THE WORD

Have you ever given any thought to the word "Word"?
In Ladies Fellowship the other night, we talked about doing word
studies through the Bible and how interesting it is to see why God
chose the words that are found in each verse of Scripture.  After all, if
you are a Bible-believer you know that there is significance in each
word, and they are placed with purpose, not just mere thoughts.  So I
thought we could look at "Word".  Here goes:

In John 1:1 and 14, I John 1:1 and 5:7, and Revelation 19:13 we get
a very profound look at the depth of the word "Word".  We have all
heard that a man is only as good as his word.  Can we assume that
the same is true of God?  What is the word of God?  Or better yet,
who is the Word of God?  Some would erroneously call us Bibliolaters
for actually believing that there exists an infallible Word of God in the
King James Bible.  Have you ever gone through the Scriptures to
actually see how inseparable the Word of God and the word of God
really are? ( I am not referring to the ink and paper and leather, but
to the actual text.)  How can anyone so arrogantly tell a congregation
that God didn't really mean what He said in a passage, so a better
rendering would be thus and so?  And how can those same hirelings
place themselves in God's stead, to correct Him?  How presumptuous!
I submit that there is a very serious kind of idolatry going on there;
and that is Scholarolatry.  Common sense would tell you that you are
following a man if you must go to him to clarify where God didn't
actually use the right verbage.  And then who becomes god when you
can choose the rendering you like best from the variety of versions
available?   Hmmm!  Think about it!

I believe that God used the word "Word" as the name of His Son in
the aforementioned passages to show us how serious a matter it is
trusting HIS WORD.   The Laodicean church age is characterized by
being wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.  This is a direct
result of stripping the Christian of the most important possession he
can have, that being the Word of God.  Doesn't Paul tell us to put on
the whole armour of God in Ephesians 6:11?  We can see throughout
the Scriptures that each piece of armour is directly related to the word
of God, and the Word of God, Jesus Christ.  Let's look at each:

Truth- John 14:6 (Jesus said he is the Truth)
cf John 17:17 (thy Word is Truth)

Gospel of Peace- II Cor. 4:4 (the light of the glorious gospel
=image of God) cf Heb. 1:2,3 (his Son=express
image of his person) cf I Thes 1:5 (gospel came
                    not in word only)

Righteousness- Jer. 23:6 (His name shall be called, THE LORD
OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS) cf Mal. 4:2 (Sun of
righteousness) cf II Tim 3:16 ( all Scripture...for
                   instruction in righteousness)

Faith- Rev. 19:11 (His name is Faithful and True) cf  Rom. 10:17
(faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
                   word of God)

Helmet of Salvation- Romans 10:9-10 (confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus...with the mouth confession is made
unto salvation) cf Eph 1:13 (In whom ye also
trusted...heard the word of truth, the gospel of
                   your salvation)

Sword of the Spirit- Heb 4:12 (word of God, sharper than any
two-edged sword...discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart) cf I Sam. 16:7 (the LORD
looketh on the heart) cf Luke 16:15 (God
                   knoweth your hearts)

Ladies, we need to see how important our Bible is. We need to be
cautious about who we go to for instruction in spiritual matters. Those
who would elevate scholarship over Scripture are the cause for the
condition of the Laodicean Church.  But they alone cannot be blamed.
No one can take the Word of God from you, unless you freely give it
up.  If you replace your King James Bible with a poor counterfeit (aka
NKJB, NASV, NIV, etc.) you have also replaced the Almighty God with
the devil's counterfeit (aka anti-christ),because those versions demote
God and cast doubt on His Deity.

Stand firm for the true Word of God, the Authorized Version, KJV
1611.    Do not surrender to scholarship, or allow so-called "good,
godly men of God" take the place of God and His Word as your final
authority.  We do not have to succumb to the spirit of Laodicea.  Do
you wish to stand before the Lord wretched, miserable, poor, blind and
naked?  Get yourself a good suit of armour, and get into this fight.
Even as ladies, we are in this battle, too.  It is up to us to defend our
homes and children against the attacks of the devil.  The Word of God
is our shield and defense.  Without it we are in danger.  Remember
Eve.  She found fault with God's Word and look where it took her.
